It's Been a While...Reintroducing Myself and Catching Up

I recently shared a YouTube video re-introducing myself and opening up about my sewing journey, where it started, where I’ve been, and where I’m heading next. This blog post is a written recap of that video for anyone who prefers to read, revisit, or catch up.

How My Love for Sewing Began

My journey with sewing started long before I ever considered it a career. As a child, I was introduced to sewing by my grandmothers and my mom. Watching my maternal grandmother create the most beautiful hand embroidery left a lasting impression on me. Those early moments planted a seed I didn’t fully understand at the time, but looking back, they shaped everything.

Studying Fashion Design & Building a Foundation

As I grew older, that early love turned into a serious pursuit. I studied fashion design and began developing the technical skills needed to bring ideas to life, from pattern drafting, garment construction to fit and fabric selection.

Over time, I learned that designing is both creative and deeply problem solving driven. This was a blessing on a personal level as I've always struggled finding clothing that fit my petite proportions and designing and sewing my own clothes was the perfect solution. Each sample, mistake, and revision taught me something new and that process is something I now love sharing with other sewists.

A Season of Quiet Growth

If you’ve noticed I wasn’t posting consistently for a while, it wasn’t because I stopped sewing. Quite the opposite!

During that time, I focused on learning and growth behind the scenes. I invested in courses, refined my skills, and spent a lot of time experimenting, designing, and planning what I truly want to build. Sometimes growth happens quietly, away from the algorithm and that season was necessary. Part of the that process involved taking a couple of courses to learn about Digital Patternmaking with Victoria at Confident Patternmaking & Grading and Launching a Pattern Business with Jessica at Pattern to Market

What I’m Working On Now

Right now, I’m in an exciting creative phase. I want to focus on applying everything I've learned, designing new pieces and growing my sewing pattern library. I also want to create with intention focusing on self-expression, creativity and sewing things that I love and make me happy.

Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced maker, my goal is to create content that feels inspiring and educational. Here’s to sewing, storytelling, and creating with intention!
